Properties are removed if they no longer meet the original criteria because its historic integrity has been lost or destroyed. Historic properties are continuously removed due to physical destruction from natural disasters (such as fires, tornadoes, or floods) or human activities (such as demolition, modern redevelopment, or severe structural neglect over time). You will find these properties listed throughout the website. You can identify a removed property easily because the details are shown in a black background to signify our loss.
Unfortunately we only have photos for 135 of the 2,476 properties that have been removed. And some of the photos are 'after' removal photos'.
